Smells Like Teen Spirit Guitar Solo
Certainly one of the most influential songs of all time, Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit features a brief easy guitar solo that is great for beginner guitar players. The solo mimics the verse and fits in and flows well with the song.I feel the solo features some slides that improve the flow of the actual solo, however, some may debate that as I have seen many transcriptions that do not have the slides.

Smells Like Teen Spirit Guitar Solo Video While you can get away with performing this solo without your pinkie, I recommend you that you try to use it as it's good practice for beginners. The pinkie can help make playing the 8th fret notes that are played when transitioning from the G to D strings and the D to A strings. Remember, however, to use your index finger to bend the 8th fret notes. If you are wondering how I got that sound, I use a Roland JC-120 amplifier which has a built in vibrato switch, through in a RAT pedal and your done! |
